Conferences can gobble up a major chunk of the marketing budget, so choosing the right venue is vital. Box Clever is making that choice easier by spreading the word about The Heritage Motor Centre, Conference and Events, in Gaydon.
The Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon is a long-standing client and we knew that their conference centre was definitely worth shouting about. We were amazed to discover that there were no professional promotional materials available – despite a towering stack of glowing testimonials. A missed opportunity, if ever we saw one!
Our recommendation? A major conference strategy encompassing a new concept, brochure and website that will kick-off with a series of advertisements in national leisure magazines from September 2010. The theme is ‘blank canvas’ – emphasising the fact that the centre is incredibly flexible and suitable for a myriad of different events.
The purpose-built Conference and Events centre has over 20 meeting rooms for 6-600 delegates, and is run by a professional and dedicated conference team that can cater to every whim. To find out more about the facilities, please click on their existing site.

Sorry, but we’ve been keeping secrets again! We’ve been beavering away on another confidential project for Urban Country Leisure – the refurbishment of a Surrey gastropub within kicking distance of the Chelsea training ground. Who knows – maybe the likes of Lamps and Terry will be dropping by for half a shandy after a hard session with Ancelotti?
This is the 9th project we have completed for UCL, proving we’ve definitely hit on a winning formula in this hugely competitive market. Other venues include The Greedy Goose, The Huff Cap, The Old Volunteer, and The Coach & Horses.
Our strategy is to grab attention across a wide range of media, including print, web, social media and advertising. We’ll be kicking off with a teaser campaign, featuring a brand new message every week. Integral to the marketing materials are data capture forms to help build loyalty through offers and regular communication.
Once again, we are teaming up with talented illustrator Tim Bulmer who is working his unique magic on the marketing materials and exterior signage.

It always warms the cockles of your heart when a client returns with repeat business. That’s what happened recently with Midland Heart, one of the top ten housing and regeneration groups in the country.
Box Clever has worked with Midland Heart since 2006, producing the organisation’s annual reports. For the 2009/10 report, Midland Heart very sensibly thought they should test the water and see whether other agencies would be able to offer a new approach. Accordingly, the pitch went out to tender and we’re delighted to report that we beat off all the competition – even some of the larger agencies in the West Midlands.
The decision to choose Box Clever was down to our dedication and creativity and the fact that Midland Heart enjoyed working with the entire team.
The annual report will be completed at the end of this month to co-inside with their AGM.
