Innventive Group were the new owners of traditional London pubs, recently out of administration. They selected Box Clever to re-brand and re-establish these venues to restore customer trust and sales performance.
The initial stages of the project involved heavy research to give a strong foundation to the project. The Box Clever team visited the newly acquired venues across London, meeting with staff and managers to gain greater insight into these locations.
The knowledge gained allowed Box Clever to generate a strategy for front-of-house and back-of-house communications to re-launch each location with the group owners.
The proposition
The key to the overall strategy was the idea of “getting stuck in”; of reinforcing the core message of these pubs being about people enjoying themselves.
Through engaging imagery and personality, customers needed to recognise that something was new , while encouraging previous customers back.
The results
We had 3 months to complete the project from research to re-launch and an overall target to rebuild sales within a 6-month time frame, which we achieved. The campaign put 10 London pubs ‘back on the map’ with the flagship, The Marylebone, 43% up on turnover targets.
The overall group has seen a dramatic surge in consumer confidence across each of its pub restaurants with food sales up 65% and drink sales up 45%.
