AAH needed to up-date the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK Award Ceremony – their way of highlighting the successes of pharmaceutical technicians over the past year.
To gain insight into what type of awards collateral material was most effective, research was carried out to ascertain what the awards meant to technicians.
This research generated a strategy to refresh the awards show based on the feedback of participants. We made recommendations on changes to categories, simplifying entry criteria, suggested dates, and the integration of a digital element to make the application process easier.
The chosen creative concept took the idea of “reflecting” on past success and translated it to the page. With the use of mirror board this communications piece captured the audience’s attention and lead them into a brochure where they could reflect on themselves literally.
Tying this strong creative idea into the branding of AAH was a straightforward process. The company’s corporate colour red lent itself to being represented through “the red curtain”, synonymous with the stage, reinforcing the presence of AAH while remaining consistent with the awards show theme.
The results
The feedback from the Client was glowing and even better still, the reception from the target audience of technicians was just as positive.
However, the true measure of success was the resulting 50% rise in applicant feedback.
